Downgrade Xperia Arc S, Neo V, Ray to Gingerbread to upgrade to ICS

REQUIREMENTS

• Download Flashtool 0.6.9.1and install it on your computer
• Download Gingerbread ROM for your device: Xperia Arc S | Xperia Neo V | Xperia Ray

DOWNGRADE INSTRUCTIONS

1. To begin with, Run the Flashtool program that you installed earlier, then go to the C:/Drive > flashtool > firmwares> delete everything in it.
2. Copy the downloaded Gingerbread ROM for your device to the firmwaresfolder which you just emptied.
3. Run the flashtool
4. Click on the flashing icon that is located in the left side below fileoption.
5. Select flashmode and click OK.
6. Enable the options Wipe User Data and Wipe Cacheas shown in the screenshot below.
7. Select OK.
8. The flashtool will now prepare the ROM and will then ask you to connect the phone to your computer via USB cable. Follow the onscreen instructions carefully.
9. Once connected, the flashtool will install the Gingerbread ROM on your Xperia.
10. After installation is complete, the phone will shut down.

You may power on the phone. Your phone will boot into Gingerbread firmware. You may now connect the phone to computer and upgrade to Android 4.0.3 ICS using the PC Companion.
